 Journey To Thrive

When you are a parent, you live life on a learning curve, always in a state of discovery and wondering if you’re doing things right. There isn’t a parenting manual that provides some sort of golden parenting standard for us to follow. Instead, we find guidance and support from family and friends who are also learning how to parent and from experts who have studied some aspect of child development.

As a mother myself, I am able to understand parenthood from the perspective of a parent and the perspective of a therapist. I can help answer questions about becoming a parent and guide you through the process of child raising. I can help you navigate the ongoing process of being a parent and together we can target specific challenging scenarios related to being a parent.

How parents can benefit from therapy:

  • Learn coping techniques for increased stress
  • Navigating difficult situations with kids
  • Learning how to teach life skills
  • Increased anxiety related to parenting
  • Guidance on how to navigate adolescence

Sometimes all parents need is a fresh perspective on their situation or a space to fully explore a challenging issue. I provide a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space for parents to gain clarity, guidance and understanding on specific situations as well as child raising in general. I provide support for parents to establish balance, to do individual mental health check-ins and to be the best parents for their children.

Therapy helps parents learn better discipline techniques and promote healthy behavior, stay confident in decision-making and maintain their own wellness. And while parents learn how to be better in the present, often pain from the past is healed as well. Through therapy, you can learn to better communicate with your co-parenting partner, to better connect with your kiddos and to feel more grounded in your everyday life.
