Pregnancy, Postpartum

 Journey To Thrive

Motherhood is difficult. I can help you navigate the growing pains.

Oftentimes a mother’s mental health gets lost in the frenzy, excitement and stress of bringing home a newborn. Sessions with a therapist allow you as a mother to sit down and dedicate some time to yourself, to check in with your own mental health and take a breath to release stress. My goal is to prioritize the mental health of mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, and to be part of a village of support.

Pregnancy and postpartum is a very delicate time in a woman’s life. There are a lot of changes that are happening, both physically and hormonally and those tend to impact your mental health. Therapy can help with things like the anxiety around birth and parenthood, body changes and lifestyle changes in preparation for having a family.

While there is a lot of emphasis in care during pregnancy, that tends to slow down once the baby is born and the wellbeing of the mother seems to fade into the background. The reality is that the postpartum season brings its own set of hormone changes, physical changes, emotional changes, and social changes. In this time, women may also be navigating the physical and emotional demands that come with breastfeeding. It is also possible that a woman had a different birth experience than the one she wanted and is left with feelings of sadness, anger, and disappointment. Any combination of these different factors can put a woman at a higher risk for anxiety and depression. I can help you navigate the roller coaster of hormones and ease the stress of postpartum by providing tools for coping.

How therapy can help through pregnancy and postpartum:

  • Address parenting concerns
  • Address toxic habits and trauma triggers
  • Navigating body changes
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Create balance in your life

As a new or expecting mother, you don’t even have to leave your house to take care of your mental health. I meet with clients via telehealth online, so all you have to do is find somewhere quiet where we can talk.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to address the things you’d like to change about yourself, your lifestyle and your habits as you move into this season of motherhood. Together, we can articulate your goals and establish a roadmap for the future. I also provide a space for you to vent about your stresses, to unwind and to rebalance your own mental health.
